Lucy, what fascinates you about Monaco?
Its location, its glamour, the feeling it gives you of protection from the ‘outside world’ and the adrenaline buzz which is always there whenever you step foot outside!
What constitutes the special quality of life in MC?
The climate, the security, the cleanliness and the fact that there is one policeman for every two people!!
Your personal insider’s tip for Monaco (locations, events…)?
Bring some good walking shoes because there is a lot to see and do! Just up in the hills above Monaco there are some spectacular views which many people never see because they only stay at ground level.
What must one have seen in Monaco?
Well the Grand Prix for sure, at least once in your life, and then there’s the Historic Grand Prix, Monte-Carlo Rally, Yacht Show, International Tennis Tournament – the list is endless!
What are your best addresses in things shopping in MC?
As a personal shopper I can’t give away all my secrets but suffice to say that Espace Mirage in the Metropole Shopping Centre rocks, as does Eleven Monte-Carlo!
Where does café au lait or espresso taste best to you?
Casa de Café – avenue de la Costa – the best!
What are your favorite restaurants in Monaco and surrounding area?
Wow there are many! Top favourites include Le Saliere in Fontvieille for the friendliest staff around, Il Terrazino for the freshest food, The New Indian in Beausoliel for yummy curries, Sass café for the most delicious fish dishes and La Note Bleu for a lazy beach lunch in the summer.
Which hotel can you recommend in Monaco?
My all time favourite is the Columbus Hotel in Fontvieille for the fantastic staff, wonderful ‘homely’ ambience and fabulous bar and restaurant!
What is your favorite place (haunt) in Monaco?
Gosh well, I would have to say, the E’Spa spa in the Metropole Hotel for relaxing, Zebra Square in the evenings at the weekend for socializing and Mala Beach in the summer for just hanging out with friends!
How do you judge the work environment in Monaco?
Well actually there are many industries here in Monaco, more than people think at first glance, and by all accounts the future looks bright. Monaco really is the perfect ‚showcase’ location for corporate companies.
Which is according to your opinion the best location for a cocktail?
There are several…the Columbus Hotel bar in the week, Zebra Square at the weekend and the gorgeous setting of Sea Lounge at the Beach Club in the summer.
Which events can you recommend in Monaco?
The Grand Prix and all the fabulous parties that come with it such as The Pole Position, Amber Lounge, Jimmyz...
I also like the Karting Champinship held in October as there is so much energy and team spirit, it’s great fun!
Where do we meet you during day or evening to relax from your stressful job on your day-off?
Well as someone who is always on the go I never really switch off, but my all-time favourite is running along the coastal path from Plage Marquet to Plage Mala. Just to be at one with nature in this spectacular part of the world is such a soul booster.
Your personal tip for Monaco newcomers?
Make sure to allow enough time to visit Monaco as there is so much going on. Take time out to just sit at a table in the Cafe de Paris in the sunshine and simply watch the world go by!
